Mixing NMN in multiple forms and NR?

Post by zmm » Wed Jun 17, 2020 8:46 am

I have been trying to figure out which one is better for a while:

1) NMN in pill form
Seems to be the way sinclair takes it
Hard to find a reputable option online
Not clear how much makes it out of the liver

2) NMN sublingual
bypasses the liver
sinclair hasnt tried it (though he said it might be good)
no one is sure if directly into the blood is more effective

3) NR in pill form
seems to have better studies at this point
sinclair has not played with it
studies seem to have been done by commercial interests

In summary, each one has pros and cons, and I dont see a clear winner at this point.
I keep on looking and listening on this topic, but still havent come to anything conclusive.
i think over the next year or two more studies will come out, that will hopefully shed some light.

In the meantime, how about taking some of each?
i.e. 250mg nmn pill, 250 sublingual, and 250 nr a day
or cycling through them, taking each for a day

I figure that between all 3, this may give a good mix of boosting NAD in different areas

Does anyone have any thoughts on this idea?

A little too complicated for me unfortunately.
I’m more than happy to stick with the
“tried and tested” AliveByNature Sublingual delivery process for NMN and NAD+...
I have been taking ABN products for over a year now with many unbelievable results so my thoughts: “If it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it”

The way I see it, Dr. Sinclair is the expert on what NMN does. And he had access to loads of it. I think a lot gets lost in the stomach before it can get to our tissues, but some of it certainly gets into our tissues.

I have read studies linked on here that indicate NMN raises NAD+ levels in our tissues more effectively than NR. I am sure they both do the job, but NMN seems to do it better. Also NMN seems to have more stability in our bodies, making it more available.

THe SL approach makes sense to me, since it doesn't have to enter via the stomach, and can be processed my the liver. The liver would seem to be the better absorber for the body than the stomach for minute amounts of things (drugs, supplements). I think commercial interests would actually make more money by just putting it in pills, rather than treating it so that it can be absorbed sublingually.

I think it is all about getting the most NMN into our system where they stand to be absorbed the most to raise NAD+ levels in our tissues. NMN SL seems to be the winner here.
Taking:
Liposomal Curcumin / Resveratrol
NMN 500mg
Melatonin 1mg (am)
Blueberry extract 1g
Berberine 250mg
Vitamin E tocotrienols 50 mg
Astragalus 500 mg
Methyl B12 5000 mcg 3x/week
Methyl Folate 1000 mcg 1-3/week

I would agree with all previous post, I would also just stick with NMN SL or pills. NMN is more stable in the body than NR. Hopefully soon we will have a way to measure our NAD levels that way we will know if our regiment as far as dosing is working or not.
